Jacqueline (just call her Jackie) Devine is a former trending and entertainment reporter for the award winning Las Cruces Sun-News, part of the USA Today Network (located in Las Cruces, New Mexico).

Her coverage of trending and community news has been covered by the Associated Press, USA Today and even "Saturday Night Live" and "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon."

A Texas native now living in Minneapolis, Minnesota, she began her career as a freelance reporter for The El Paso Times and an intern for KVIA-TV El Paso (both located in El Paso, Texas) and later a county and military reporter for the Alamogordo Daily News (located in, you guessed it, Alamogordo, New Mexico), where she was part of a team that won multiple New Mexico Press Association awards. A four time NMPA winner herself, she graduated with a multimedia journalism degree from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) where she was also an entertainment reporter for the student newspaper, The Prospector.

Her favorite pastime is spending time with her husband and her cat Chloe, writing, drinking coffee, listening to music, traveling and anything that has to do with food.

Hundreds of mourners pay tribute to George Floyd in Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS – Days of civil unrest in the Twin Cities have followed the death of George Floyd, 46, who died May 25, while in police custody. Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, who is white, was arrested Friday, days after video circulated of him holding his knee to Floyd's neck for at least eight minutes before Floyd, who is black, died.

Man survives after his dog accidentally shoots him on a hunting trip

Tex Gilligan, 74, a Doña Ana County resident, told the Sun-News that Charlie and his two other dogs – Scooter and Cowboy – went with him to hunt for jackrabbits in the desert west of Las Cruces on Oct. 25. Gilligan was in the driver's seat of his parked pickup truck, along with the dogs, when he was shot.
